Pressure Filled Meet at Ankeny, Swim Team Wins in Thriller

Pressure Filled Meet at Ankeny, Swim Team Wins in Thriller
Last season, the swim team lost a nailbiter to Ankeny by a score of 91-95.  It was a meet that they easily could have won had they not lost focus. The team was confident after lots of scouting that they could win the meet this season.

The nerves were high before the meet started. At one point, the team was down 18 and people questioned if they would even be able to come back. Going into the 400 free relay, the lead was cut down to 2. They had to finish in first to at least tie, but if they also could pickup a 3rd place finish, they would win. The girls picked up the win, and the B got 3rd which gave them the points to win. It was the same score as last year, but reversed: varsity won 95-91!  It took every swimmer and diver to achieve those points, and it took every event to get it done.

The JV team remains undefeated on the season with a 5-0 record!  They were setting the pace all night long with personal best times throughout the night, and even had a 200 free relay with everyone under a 30 seconds! The JV picked up the win with a score of 120 - 56 over Ankeny tonight!
