The Urbandale Girls Softball Team had two players, Seniors Alexa Richmond and Bella Oberbroeckling, named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Assocation Academic All-State team! The team had one of the highest team GPAs among ALL Urbandale activities with a cumulative mark at 3.66.

Not only were these two succesful in the classroom, but both were key contributors on the field for the J-Hawks. Taking the corner infield positions, these two solidifed a stellar infield group for this team. Through July 8th, Alexa has 27 hits (6 doubles) while driving in 19 runs. For Bella, she has 46 hits (8 doubles, 3 triples, 2 homers) 33 runs batted in while also throwing in 6 stolen bases.

The criteria for Academic All-State with the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association is as follows:

• Athlete must be a senior and meet two of the following criteria:
  • Athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75
  • Athlete must must have a 27 ACT score
  • Athlete must be in the top 15% of their class
