The Urbandale J-Hawks wrapped up their final conference competition of the 2025 season at the CIML Conference Meet on Thursday, May 8, finishing 8th overall against a highly competitive field of Central Iowa teams.
Despite elite competition, the J-Hawks posted solid performances across the board. Daxon Kiesau - Discus - 163'-09" finished first to close out an outstanding Sophomore campaign. Elijah Ajiri - 400m - 49.89 finished in 3rd place. Ashton Hensley - 800m - 158.66 came in at 5th place. Blake Smith - 1600m - 4:22.66 came in 6th place as well as Larson De Boer - 400m - 52.18 also finished in 6th Place. The 4x100m Relay - 42.78 closed out a great year in 6th. The meet provided valuable experience and momentum as the squad looks ahead to postseason competition.
This marks the conclusion of conference competition for the J-Hawks, but the season is far from over. The J-Hawks will return to the track on Thursday, May 15, at Waukee Northwest High School for the State Qualifying Meet — the final step before the Iowa High School State Championships.
With continued focus and execution, Urbandale will aim to send several athletes to Drake Stadium and leave their mark on the year.
