J-Hawks Boys Track & Field Season Recap

J-Hawks Boys Track & Field Season Recap

The J-Hawks Boys Track & Field team is putting together a competitive and exciting spring campaign, testing themselves early and often against elite competition across the state.

The season kicked off indoors at the Dickinson Relays, followed by a strong showing at the IATC Indoor Championships, where the J-Hawks got an early sense of where they stood among Iowa's best. The team then opened the outdoor season at the Waukee Northwest Early Bird Invitational and continued to build momentum at the Dowling Catholic Invitational.

Back on home turf, the J-Hawks competed in the Gary DouBrava Invitational on Senior Night, honoring their upperclassmen with spirited performances. As the season progressed, they took to the Blue Oval for the Jim Duncan Relays, gaining valuable experience on the same track that hosts the state meet.

The team continued to sharpen their form at the Johnston Invitational and then returned home for the Chuck Silvey Invitational, rounding out a stretch of key meets heading into one of the season's biggest stages.

Now, the J-Hawks are set to showcase their talent at the 115th running of the Drake Relays this weekend, sending both the 4x800 and 4x100 relay teams, as well as standout discus thrower Daxon Kiesau, to compete against the best of the best at the state's premier track and field event.
