A total of 366 high school teams (143 boys, 223 girls) throughout the United States have earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2011-12 academic year. Urbandale High School Girls with a GPA of 3.64 was the only Iowa Girls Team to receive the recognition from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. This marks the 9th straight year that the Girls' Varsity Team has achieved this award.
